Do You Have An Unused Musical Instrument Around The House?
Do you have musical instruments around the house, collecting dust or worse from lack of maintenance? Do you or your children no longer play?
First, we strongly urge you (or your post-high school offspring) to start playing again by joining the Phoenix Community Band (there are no auditions), but if that is not a possibility, we are asking for you to consider donating your instrument to the PCB. We have members who, for any number of reasons, need to borrow an instrument for short or long-term use; your gift will be most appreciated.
The band is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, and will gladly provide a letter of thanks for your donated instrument (type, make, and serial number identified) on our letterhead, which you can then use to file with your tax return along with your estimate of the instrument’s value. (Sorry, but, by law, the PCB cannot assign value. Only you can do so.)
The band reserves the right to utilize any donated instrument as a loaner to a player in need or as a means of fundraising through a sale. Generally, the use to which the instrument is put will be dependent upon the number and quality of similar instruments on hand, as well as the relative condition of the donated instruments.
If you are interested in donating an instrument (preferably in working order, but we might undertake repairs of a routine maintenance nature and possibly more extensive repairs, depending upon the instrument), please contact either our band President or Treasurer to arrange delivery or pick-up:
